New to Bauer's 2020 Supreme lineup is the Bauer Supreme 3S INT Catcher, building off of the previous S29 Bauer has incorporated a few new changes including one fairly large one. That large change being the introduction of Curv composite to the Supreme Sr. line, last year we saw Bauer use this concept for the first time with the 2X Catcher and it was such a popular upgrade Bauer has made the decision to continue the trend onto the 3S Catcher this year.
External Material
Bauer's 3S glove will feature a synthetic leather paired with their catchlite material. The synthetic leather will cover everywhere on the face of the glove minus the palm and T-trap. The synthetic leather will offer good durability but you will lose a few of the performance benefits associated with the CORTECH.
Break Angle
The break angle on the new Supreme trapper is similar to the previous model, in a 75 degree break. The break is geared toward the fingertip-thumb closure angle, resulting in a wide open feel when the catch surface is open.
Pocket Design
The Supreme 3S goalie glove has another feature previously used on the 2X line but not yet been introduced to the Supreme lineup and that would be the addition of their catchlite material. Catchlite is designed to be a highly durable yet flexible material. It is an improvement upon typical jenpro as the catchlite has a great out of the box game ready feel to shave off break in time.
The pocket features the double “T” introduced in the 2S Pro trapper. The benefits of the double “T” include a wider pocket opening and improved puck tracking when looking through the pocket when freezing the puck.
Strapping
The strapping of the Supreme 3S is taken from the previous generation, including a nylon wrist straps, velcro backhand & finger straps. The straps on the trapper allow for a relatively customizable fit to keep the trapper comfortably in place without the worry of it being jarred loose.
Cuff Design
The new cuff design on the 3S catcher is where we see some of that large improvement as Bauer has added their Curv composite to the cuff as mentioned before this a new improvement to the Supreme line but not a new concept for Bauer as they previously did the same with Vapor Sr. line last year. The addition of the Curv composite will provide more protection and a higher quality of durability.
Colors
The Bauer Supreme 3S INT Catcher will be available in the following colorways: all White, White/Black, White/Navy, White/Blue, and White/Red. The 3S Goalie Glove is available in Regular hand (worn on your left hand) in all colourways, and Full Right (worn on your right hand) in All White.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
