The Bauer Supreme S29 Senior goal skate further improves upon the popular previous model Supreme S190; bringing a new level of performance and value to the mid-range price point. The Supreme S29 Sr brings down many top-end characteristics in fit and performance, for the mid to elite-level goaltender looking to benefit from Bauer's latest skate innovations.
When the Supreme S190 skate came into the goalie world in early 2016, it was the first mid-range goal skate without a cowling, as well as one of the first mid-range goal skates to offer a partially composite boot. Many goalies were quick to jump in to the Supreme S190, with it not always being the best fit for their feet. To improve the fit for goalies looking to get into a low-cut, performance-based skate, an updated grip liner and heel lock with extended eyelets have been added to the Supreme S29 Senior skate. These upgrades allow for a more comfortable, locked-in heel and ankle to enhance fit for the existing Supreme user, while providing a possible new option for goalies who may not have been the most comfortable in previous Supreme skates.
Stiffness throughout the boot is one of the most significant changes when comparing skates of varying price points. The Supreme S29 Senior skate features a Curv composite quarter package, which paired with an upgraded Fiber Composite+ quarter, provides a level of boot stiffness that rivals pro-level skates of previous years. The use of Curv composite allows the skate to be incredibly lightweight, while providing enhanced boot stiffness, thus greatly improving energy transfer and responsiveness. A new Fiber Composite+ material that is woven throughout the quarter package of the boot further increases boot integrity and performance. Having a stiff skate boot allows for improved energy transfer and responsiveness when pushing into the ice. By creating a stiffer platform to push off of when skating and reducing the amount of "give" in the boot, it allows for heightened performance and value.
For the goaltender on the ice multiple times a week, the gradual breakdown of the internal liner is a common area of concern. For improved comfort and durability, a Hydra-Max 2 liner is used on the S29 Senior. The Hydra-Max 2 liner on the S29 wicks moisture away from the feet during play, while providing a comfortable feel. Hydra-Max 2 throughout the liner is a familiar technology that was seen on the previous S190, though paired with an improved fit and heel-lock, allows for heightened comfort and moisture-wicking properties.
The Bauer Supreme S29 Senior goal skate further improves upon a successful design. For the goalie on the ice multiple times per week looking for exceptional performance and value, the S29 Senior is sure to be a great option.
