The Warrior G4 intermediate goalie pads take what goalies love about their bigger brothers, the G4 Senior and the G4 Pro goalie leg pads and bring it down to a size that is more suitable for growing, or vertically challenged goalies. The pad may be smaller, but the features are as big as ever as you'd expect from Warrior.
First and foremost, Warrior has continued to offer their individual knee pad, rather than a thigh board or something attached to the pad. This allows goalies to use that knee pad on another pad should they need to switch pads again. This offers great value especially when goalies are still growing. This isn't the only thing the G4 intermediate goalie pads have inherited however.
The prime feature of the new Ritual G4 pads is the AIRslide technology. This is very visible on the inside sliding edge of the pad. By creating these channels in the same direction the goalie is expected to slide, the G4 intermediate goalie pads offer much less drag on the ice when compared to something with a full surface. As well these channels do a great job of improving slidability on snowy surfaces, as the snow now has somewhere to go rather than being caught up on a binding or something similar.
As well, to help goalies get to the ice and take advantage of the AIRslide tech, Warrior has included something called 360* ACTIVEdrop technology. This tech helps by pushing the pads closer to the ice while standing in the ready stance, allowing the pads to fall to the ice faster. Usually pads achieve this feeling by being extremely loose, however the G4 intermediate goalie pads allow the pad to still be reactive and fit snuggly, while giving the same advantage.
The final place the G4 intermediate pads have innovated on is the outer roll. By changing the shape and thinning out the outer roll to allow the goalie pad to sit much more closely to the post, Warrior has limited the ability of pucks to slip through the crack when the goalie lands with the shin on their post.
The Warrior G4 Intermediate pads are great for the goaltender that wants no compromises when it comes to technology and weight, and they fill this hole perfectly.

Goalie Leg Pad Sizing
Sizing up your goalie leg pads is crucial for having total control while moving in the crease. There are two different measurements you can use to project the size of leg pad you should be wearing. The first one is your floor-to-knee measurement, which you can match up with our provided sizing charts to find the size of pad you would wear, before plus sizing. The second is the sum of your skate size, mid-ankle-to-mid-knee measurement, and your mid-knee-to-mid-thigh measurement. This measurement gives you a rough idea of what overall size pad you should purchase.

Once you have your new leg pads, you’ll need to make sure they fit you properly. To do so, you’ll need to put the pads on with your skates, as if you are about to go on the ice. There a couple things to do to check size, once you have the pads on:
