Intro & New Features
CCM has released the 4th Extreme Flex pad, with the new E4.9 as their performance pad. The new pad brings incredible improvements, increasing the competition in the performance pad market. With velcro strapping, speedskin, their new flexible toe string system, the E4.9 isn’t here to disappoint.
The E4.9 is wrapped in speedskin, enabling a smoother transition on the ice to increase speed and energy transfer. Speekskin was introduced in 2017 with the E-flex 3 pro pads and has became a mainstay on CCM pads now as their skin of choice.
The core on the E4.9 consists of CCM’s Dualitecore Technology enabling better torsional flex, while remaining incredibly light. The improved torsional flex protomes the entire pad to seal the ice when sliding or making a save.
The pad break on the E4.9 consists of one outer break and an internal precurved single break. This maximizes flexibility and closes the five hole without sacrificing structural integrity.
To keep this pad soft, CCM made a deep ultra soft boot channel allowing free mobility. The boot angle is 90-degrees offering some flexibility for when pushing along the ice.
CCM uses recessed foam with a removable knee cradle wrap to allow customizability and comfort. This deep knee cradle is designed to help close the five hole and prevent you from falling off the knee stack while still having mobility and not feeling restricted.
Knee & Thigh Protection
CCM doesn’t have any knee/thigh protection included with the pad.
CCM introduces their quick motion strap system to the E-flex line. This strapping system finally eliminates the buckles that CCM has been using, and makes the pad a more modern by having all velcro straps, 2 along the calf and one around the knee, encouraging you to get dressed and undressed faster than ever before. As for the toe ties, CCM has brought a bungee cord velcro system, similar to infamous HAL straps, giving a more adaptive feel while playing while also being quick, secure and easy to do up.
The E4.9 has a small toe taper to allow a deeper stance without allowing the pad to lift off the ice, therefore keeping a nice seal.

The E4.9 Will be offered in many colours such as all white, blue, black, red, etc. Sizing for the E4.9 is available in 33+1, 34+1, 34+2 and 35+2 in senior.

Goalie Leg Pad Sizing
Sizing up your goalie leg pads is crucial for having total control while moving in the crease. There are two different measurements you can use to project the size of leg pad you should be wearing. The first one is your floor-to-knee measurement, which you can match up with our provided sizing charts to find the size of pad you would wear, before plus sizing. The second is the sum of your skate size, mid-ankle-to-mid-knee measurement, and your mid-knee-to-mid-thigh measurement. This measurement gives you a rough idea of what overall size pad you should purchase.

Once you have your new leg pads, you’ll need to make sure they fit you properly. To do so, you’ll need to put the pads on with your skates, as if you are about to go on the ice. There a couple things to do to check size, once you have the pads on:
