Blockers don’t have much to differentiate themselves from others, let’s be honest, a blocker is a blocker. That being said, Bauer has tried to shake things up this time around to separate the Bauer Vapor 2X blocker from the competition. Featuring an Ax Suede Pro palm, one of the thinnest blocker boards on the market and Thermomax lining, the Bauer 2X senior has brought some new life to the blocker market.
External Material
Bauer uses their synthetic leather with C.O.R.Tech skin on the new Vapor 2X Pro blocker, this promotes harder, faster rebound than normal blocker skin. Having used this technology for the past few years, Bauer is confident it gives goalies the edge they need over the competition. This technology works by having a faster recovery rate than other skin types, the faster the recovery, the faster and harder the puck will come off.
Palm Material
The Bauer Vapor 2X Goalie blocker features an Ax Suede Pro palm, mixing comfort and performance. This is a softer material palm so it can be comfortable while also allowing great feel for the stick and finger mobility.
Side Hand Protection
The side board is composed of thin tapered Curv Composite and HD foams providing great protection and the ability to send rebounds far away from the net.
Cuff
The 2X features a free flex cuff, allowing full range of motion and great control when playing the puck.
Hand Protection
The hand protection is great on this blocker, with finger protection and large thumb protection, ensuring nothing gets to your palm or fingers. The side board also has a tapered area that will hug the stick, preventing puck from riding up your stick and hitting your fingers.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.

Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
