Intro & New Features
Introducing in 2024 is the Warrior G7.1 Senior Goalie Blocker. With a 20° board shape to improve rebound speed, X-Foam index finger protection, removable and adjustable palms, and HyperComp reinforced construction, this blocker has all the necessary qualities to keep you at the top of your game.
External Material
The G7.1 uses CoverEDGE+ technology, which is a forward-lean design that creates a better angle when challenging the shot. This technology focuses on cutting down the angle for better puck reach and coverage.
Internal Construction
The Ritual G7.1 blocker keeps a similar shape to the G6 line, with some minor adjustments. The board is now thicker with a 20° shape to help boost rebound speed, and the adjusted composition contributes to the overall lightweight design. The hypercomp reinforced construction is made up of carbon fiber and is designed to enhance durability while helping a bit with rebound responsiveness.
Palm Material
The palm of the Ritual G7.1 is both removable and adjustable, allowing you to decide where your hand sits relative to the blocker board. This way, you can decide on the feel that works best for you.
Side Hand Protection
Warrior’s HyperComp reinforcement has been added to the blocker and side hand. This reinforcement is made up of carbon fiber and is designed to enhance durability while helping a bit with rebound responsiveness. The side index finger protection is also adjustable, allowing you to get the best fit for your style.
Cuff Design
The cuff is very similar to how it was in previous Ritual blockers, with the internal cuff as part of the palm and the external cuff being velcro-adjustable. The external cuff is made wide and shorter to offer a good range of motion and a better fit with chest and arm protectors.
Hand Protection
The blocker uses X-Foam index finger protection, which wraps around the index finger for additional protection over your hand. The adjustable contoured thumb and finger protection also allows for greater customization, and the finger guards have been designed to offer a full range of motion when moving.
Colors & Customization
The Warrior G7.1 Senior Goalie Blocker is available in colors: Black, White/Black, White/Black/Red, White/Red, White/Royal, and White. In-store and online, only White is available in regular and full-right options. More variants and options are available through Warrior.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Blocker Hands Simplified
- Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
- Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
