The CCM Phenom Goalie Blocker is shaped and designed to direct pucks out of harm’s way. The blocker combines comfort and performance so goalies can defend their crease with confidence. With a variety of high-quality features and colors, this blocker is a great option for young goalies.
Internal Construction
The Phenom blocker uses a pre-curved angle. The precurved blocking angle allows the blocker to make rebound control look easy and efficient. The blocking board features a combination of durable foam and plastic which allows goalies to deflect rebounds out of harm’s way, while maintaining durability.
Palm Material
The palm on the Phenom goalie blocker, features a centered palm position. The centered palm position provides goalies with a balanced feel while wearing this blocker. The palm is designed with a textured palm with mesh gussets, which is designed to provide maximum comfort and feel.
Finger Protection
The fingers on this blocker are protected in two different ways. The thumb is protected with a molded thumb design, which allows goalies to make big saves while remaining protected through a series of durable foams. The fingers on this blocker are protected with low-density foam wrap, which allows goalies to play through impacts, reducing the risk of injuries.
Cuff Design
CCM continues to use their flexmotion cuff on the Phenom blocker. The flexmotion cuff has strategic segmentation and adjustability for greater range of motion. A new feature to the cuff is the use of Neoprene. The Neoprene material is designed to provide a comfort finish at the wrist opening.
Sizing & Colors
The CCM Phenom Youth Goalie Blocker comes in a regular, and full-right catch hand, full-right is designed for those who use their blocker on their left hand. This blocker is available in White/Black, White/Red/Black, and White/Royal/Black.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Blocker Hands Simplified
- Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
- Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
