New for 2022 from CCM is the Multisport helmet designed specifically for young players who are just learning to skate and taking their first steps on the ice. Equipped with an EPP liner, a High Impact protective shell, and a versatile design, this helmet is perfect for young players’ first steps in hockey, or whatever sport they’re interested in.
Outer Shell Construction
The outer shell is made with a lightweight and highly protective one-piece design to keep small and delicate heads protected from falls and collisions. Holes in the front and around the helmet have been placed strategically to allow for good airflow and to keep your child’s head comfortable.
Internal Foams & Liner
The helmet uses EPP foam along the inside for optimal impact protection. The foams have been molded to accommodate players of all kinds. This includes the addition of a channel in the back specifically for ponytail hairstyles, as well as a goggle holder clip in the rear. Foam pads along the inside are interchangeable and attach to the strappings to help keep the helmet snug and to make the fitting process easier.
Cage Construction
The cage in this combo is new from CCM for 2022: the FM70. It uses lightweight wires with a wide, square design to balance visibility with great protection. The chin cup is fabricated with floating construction comfort foam, which is built to move with your child while they play. It offers solid coverage with this design, no matter the situation on the ice.
On the Multisport, this cage comes in silver.
Fit & Sizing Adjustments
The Multisport helmet uses a tool-free adjustment system to make it easy to fix the helmet to the shape of your child’s head. The system includes a built-in and self-adjusting occipital support cushion that fixes itself based on your child’s head shape. The quick-release chin strap helps simplify the fitting process for kids and adults alike.
Certification
CCM’s Multisport helmet is certified with HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and CE (European Community) certification. These stickers indicate their compliance with the applicable standards in different leagues.
Sizes & Colors
The Multisport helmet comes in a single Youth size that will fit most children aged 2 to 7 years old, with hat sizes 48.5cm - 54cm (6 - 6½). It is available in the following colourways: Black and White/Pink.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
