Intro & New Features
The CCM EFlex 5 catcher further advances their 600 degree catch angle, while maintaining the popular design that goalies have come to know and love. D30 smart foam in the palm paired with a Flexmotion backhand and cuff allow for ample protection, while having a flexible and customizable fit.
External Material
The EFlex 5 catcher is wrapped in CCM’s proprietary Speedskin material. Speedskin on a blocker doesn’t have the same slide benefit as it does on pads. However, it is a lighter material than traditional jenpro, and keeps the material consistent throughout a goalie’s entire setup.
Break Angle
The break angle of the EFlex 5 catcher is 600 degrees, also known as a 50 degree break. This catch angle has a longer pocket and is more “outwards”, making it great for catching pucks away from the body. The closure of the EFlex 5 is less of a fingers-to-thumb type close, but instead a fingers-to-palm close; similar to rolling your hand over a roll of coins.
Pocket Design
The EFlex 5 features a double tee pocket. This double tee allows for a slightly larger pocket, along with increased puck tracking as the puck can be tracked through the gap in the tee web.
Strapping
The back hand of the EFlex 5 features velcro adjustments for the fingers, as well as the back of the hand. Goalies can also customize their fit by the quick release webbing strap on the wrist, which allows for easy and secure adjustment.
Cuff Design
The EFlex 5 features a one-piece cuff. CCM’s one-piece cuff with a redesigned core allows for maximum coverage and an enhanced closure.
Colors & Customization
The EFlex 5 trapper is available in a range of stock colours, as well as in endless variations through CCM’s customizer. Along with a variety of colour and other spec changes, goalies can opt for the 580 and 590 breaks of CCM’s Axis line. This allows goalies to choose the glove of their preference, while still being able to have their entire setup with the EFlex 5 graphic. This demo catcher comes in Black / Red.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
