CCM’s AXIS line comes in to replace the fan favorite Premier line of goalie gear. Although the name has changed, CCM has used some similar technology in the new AXIS collection that goalies have come to know and love. Goalies can expect that same balanced and lightweight design from previous models with additional innovation coming with the new and improved D30 Speed Skin.
External Material
CCM uses D30 Speed Skin material on this blocker, currently one of the lightest skins used in the goalie world. CCM is taking a “don’t fix what isn’t broken” approach when it comes to the skin on their gear.
Palm
The AXIS blocker comes stock with a multi-layered reinforced Nash palm providing goalies with optimal feel and protection.
Side Hand Protection
CCM has incorporated a heat-laminated dual-density foam blocking board with PE that provides powerful rebounds and directional control off the blocker face. Additionally, there is further HD foam wrapped in D30 Speed Skin for optimal impact protection around the fingers. Lastly, the sidewalls are reinforced with X-Stiff foam and have curved high-impact finger protection.
Cuff
CCM’s molded 3-piece cuff on the AXIS blocker provides you with maximum flexibility and an enhanced range of motion making those difficult blocker saves a little more manageable.

The AXIS blocker has curved high-impact finger protection to make sure your thumb and fingers are fully protected while finding that comfortable fit.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
