Intro & New Features

The Bauer Vapor League Senior Hockey Stick is an elite-level low-kick stick that is built to unleash some wicked snap shots and wrist shots. With those considerations in mind, the stick features various returning and upgraded material, including XE-Taper Technology, a re-engineered 15k one-piece carbon fibre shaft, and HyperCore Blade Technology—all within a stick that is built to last.

Shaft Construction

The shaft has now been reinforced with a premium 15k carbon fibre build to keep the shaft both lightweight and durable. The carbon also effectively enhances the Vapors’ acclaimed low-kick point, making shooting easier and smoother than ever. Bauer’s single molding process has also removed excess materials, which means the stick is now much lighter.

Blade Construction

Appearing in the Vapor Hyperlite, the Vapor League hockey stick uses HyperCore Technology to lower blade weight and optimize the stick’s balance point. Two carbon bridges are fused into a stiff foam, improving overall toughness by 20%. This increases stability and control and creating a longer-lasting blade pop.

Stick Flex Profile

Like all in the Vapor line, the Vapor League hockey stick is built with a low-kick flex profile and uses XE-Taper Technology. The improved carbon shaft has made it even easier to make use of the stick’s low-kick build. Similar to other low-kick sticks, this hockey stick is best suited for forwards and playmaking defensemen that focus most of their game on making quick snap shots, wrist shots, or passes up close.

Graphics

The stick has a very modern vapor look, with a red, white, and black colouration. The top of the shaft is reserved for the grey, red and white, while black and carbon material take the bottom. Vapor logo is printed subtly in both areas and in similar colours, and Bauer’s classic lettering is placed near the blade in white.

Blade Patterns, Flex, & Stick Length

The Vapor League Hockey Stick comes in the following blade patterns: P28, P88, P92, and P92M.

P92 is the best all-around blade pattern, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs. P92M is very similar to the P92, but it is just a bit taller.

P88 is a relatively traditional curve. A popular choice in the past, it excels greatly in stickhandling, quick wrist shots, and snappy backhands.

P28 is a much more curved stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots.

Hockey Player Stick Sizing & Information Guide

Selecting the right stick for you.
When it comes to sizing a Hockey Stick, the length tends to be a preference. Sticks come in Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Youth lengths with corresponding flex options. You will need to consider your weight and height or the person you are buying for in order to choose the correct size. Intermediate, Junior, and Youth hockey sticks will have smaller shaft dimensions, making them easier for young players to hold and control.

A stick can always be cut down in length, and will usually be cut down for kids. However, selecting a hockey stock too long in length or the wrong flex can hinder performance. For kids, junior, intermediate and senior all come in roughly standards length. In some cases, each Junior flex will be a different length of stick. Look at each and compare the height of the player you are buying for.

Flex can be tricky to pick as every hockey player is different and has their own preference. You can think of flex numbers as pounds of force. Having too stiff or too whippy a stick can hinder performance in their own ways.

Personalizing your stick length.
As mentioned before, length is very much personal preference. To determine a benchmark height, stand with your shoes off and the stick against your body with the toe on the ground. As a general rule of thumb we recommend sticks to come up to between your mouth and nose. For kids, or players who are still growing, the maximum height we recommend is eye level.

Mark the shaft of the stick where the height is desired and cut it down to length. Make sure to re-insert the plug from the top to prevent an open composite end at the top of your stick.

When cutting a stick down, keep in mind that the shorter you cut a stick, the stiffer it becomes. As a general rule, a stick increases 3% in stiffness for every inch cut off. If you are unsure how much you want to cut off, take the least amount first so that you can always cut more if necessary. Cutting the stick multiple times will not affect the sticks construction.

Information to Consider

Flex Options
Players want to be able to fully flex the stick. If a stick is too soft, the resulting shot will be inaccurate and weak. If a stick is too stiff, there will be no power behind the shot. Think of the flex number as pounds of force. This is the number of pounds that need to be put into the stick to fully flex it.

Curve Options
In most cases, sticks are offered in multiple blade curve pattern options. Please refer to our blade pattern charts for more information regarding the patterns available.

Kick Point Options
A Mid-kick stick will have a stiffer taper so that it flexes more in the middle of the shaft. These sticks have a longer loading time but offer a more powerful shot, perfect for players taking a lot of slap shots.

A Low-kick stick will have a stiffer middle of the shaft and softer taper so that it flexes at the bottom of the shaft closer to the blade. These sticks will have a much quicker release perfect for quick snap shots and writs shots.

The customer service here was simply amazing! I ordered rollerblades for my son’s birthday as a last-minute gift and accidentally ordered the wrong size. I called and spoke with Mitchell, who was absolutely wonderful to deal with. He was able to change my order while I was on the phone, helped me arrange express shipping, and got them shipped out right away. Now I’m keeping my fingers crossed they arrive in time, but the level of service I received was above and beyond what I expected. If you’re in Langley, I highly recommend shopping here. And if you’re ordering online, I 1000% recommend them. The customer service was exceptional, and Mitchell went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of. Thank you for making a stressful last-minute birthday purchase so much easier! 🎉🎂

I brought in a friend who was looking to get started playing men's league. Brandon gave us the V.I.P. treatment and patiently helped us with absolutely everything my friend needed. I already knew the goalie department was 5-star, and now I know the entire store is the same. Way to go Brandon and The Hockey Shop!

I went to the Hockey Shop to order a custom goalie set and I can't say enough about my experience with Androo. I had a very particular idea about what I wanted and Androo took the time to go over every option on each piece of equipment while offering his own experiences and opinions, which was a huge help. We ended up exchanging three dozen emails over two months nailing down every little last detail. Every question was promptly answered and if he didn't know, he contacted the company directly to find out. Androo was super chill yet extremely professional and patient. He shared the same enthusiasm about goalie gear so it felt like I was talking to a buddy. I picked up my set today and it came out perfect! Thanks again, Androo!

Clearly this place has an amazing reputation already, so this review won’t make a dent. But I must say, Evan, the e-commerce team lead is great at his job and really helped me out with buying a set of goalie pads. Thanks Evan!

I came in on two consecutive weekends, and I can confidently say that The Hockey Shop offers some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a retail store. I was looking for a full set of gear, and the staff member assisting me was patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly not pushy. A lot of stores tend to upsell or suggest pricier gear that might not be necessary, but I never felt that pressure here. It felt like they were more interested in getting me into the right gear rather than the most expensive gear. On my second visit, Brennan in the skate section helped me out and honestly, you guys need to give him a raise! His customer service was top-notch. He was incredibly knowledgeable and made the process feel really personal by taking my foot shape and fit preferences into account. He even tossed in some extra laces on the house. Overall, THS is easily one of the best hockey shops in the Lower Mainland when it comes to selection and customer service. The only feedback I have is about the weekday hours—it can be tough to grab last-minute gear before a late evening game. Staying open until 6:30 or 7:00 PM on weekdays would be a huge help, though I totally understand the logistical challenges that might come with that.

First of all "HUGE" "SHOUT-OUT" to Matt for taking great care of myself and a friend of mine, as we brought in some Sweaters/Jerseys in to be Sewn/Stitched. Matt was very attentive, and went through everything with great detail, and to make sure everything was 💯% correct and going to be right. He went through and showed us everything on the Computer, and went through everything to make sure everything is going to be correct, and make sure everything was going to match as to what it was supposed to be... For myself I needed some Patches to be Stitched onto my Houston Aeros Sweater. And my others simply Stitched as when I had my Sweaters made, they were supposed to be Stitched from the Company I had them made from, but they simply cheated and had some of them glued on 🤬👎 and delivered them that way... On my Bobby Orr Sweater I needed all the Stars Stitched and NHL Logos Stitched, as they cheated and glued them on 🤬 ( Name & Numbers were actually Stitched on ) I knew the Stars were going to be a tough task, as the smaller ones could be a problem. But as you can see from the pictures I posted, the seamstress did an outstanding job 😃👍👍 My other two Sweaters I needed the Numbers and "A's" Stitched on as well. Both of those were done outstanding also 😃👍👍 The friend of mine brought in two Baseball Jerseys to have Numbers sewn on. Matt and my friend went through on the Computer to go through the teams he getting done, their number history and so on. ( Both teams are defunct ) and Matt made it happen and they found the correct ones. They had to be made and cut, but they made it happen. I'll have to post my friends Baseball Jerseys later, the next time I'm over for a drink or two. All in all outstanding Customer service, and both of us will definitely be back to get more Sweaters and Jerseys done ( we have lots lol ) Also as an add on, the Store is very well organized, and well laid out. And not to mention clean, and not looking like a disaster with stuff all over the place lol ( like some stores ) Cheers and it was a very pleasureable experience 😃👍👍

We stopped just to size up our goalie(we are new to the goalie game) and Ray took all the time in the world to help us out- even knowing that I wasn’t intending on buying right away. I am so grateful to have someone who knows the game showing me what to look for. 10/10 customer service!

We live in a remote area and needed a store that could provide a skate repair. Evan in Sales Administration was wonderful in helping set us up for a skate repair while we were travelling. We had set aside a day trip specifically to have the repair done, and he made the process easy. Sage was great assisting us in the store, and Cecil did an excellent job with the repair. Sage also helped take care of a few additional things that were needed. The turnaround time was exactly what we needed to stay on our travel timeline, and the repair was done with care. The professionalism and understanding of our time constraints were truly appreciated. We were very happy with the service at the store.

The service here is unbelievable! It’s very busy too but the staff are very attentive and I really thought I would never skate again because of my deformed feet, unfortunately rentals cause excruciating pain and I am crippled for days after trying to skate for less than 5 minutes on the ice.
