Blockers don’t have much to differentiate themselves from others, let’s be honest, a blocker is a blocker. That being said, Bauer has tried to shake things up this time around to separate the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro blocker from the competition. Featuring a new Quattro Ivory Pro palm, one of the thinnest blocker boards on the market and Thermocore lining, the Vapor 2X Pro Goalie Blocker has brought some new life to the blocker market.
External Material
Bauer uses their C.O.R.Tech ST skin on the new Bauer 2X Pro blocker, this promotes harder, faster rebound than normal blocker skin. Having used this technology for the past few years, Bauer is confident it gives goalies the edge they need over the competition. This technology works by having a faster recovery rate than other skin types, the faster the recovery, the faster and harder the puck will come off.
Internals
Bauer uses a new thin tapered Curv Composite allowing the blocker to be thin and light while still providing optimal protection and performance. This new technology alows the blocker to be the thinnest on the market and rivals competition in weight as well, weighing an incredible 2 pounds.
Palm Material
The new Vapor 2X pro blocker has a new Quattro Ivory Palm, which is an updated sanitized odor resistant treatment that keeps the material clean. The palm has added cushioning where the stick would be held for added comfort, protection and durability.
Side Hand Protection
The side board is constructed of tapered Curv Composite and features tapered finger protection that perfectly seals where the stick would be held, eliminating any shots that ride up your stick from hitting you.
Cuff
Bauer uses Aerolite to make up the free flex cuff, offering great protection without any interference when it comes to mobility.
Hand Protection
The hand protection is great on this blocker, with finger protection and large thumb protection, ensuring nothing gets to your palm or fingers.
Colors Available
The blocker comes in a range of colours including white, red, blue and navy. Bauer has also improved their customizer for this new set, giving more custom options than ever before including bases other than white. Along with anew customizer, Bauer is also expected to unveil their new custom graphic printing, creating endless possibilities.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
