The Bauer Supreme UltraSonic Senior goalie pad is the latest version of Supreme pad that has built off the previous Bauer 2S Pro pads and added key features for a new elite level pad. Research and design, along with feedback from customers and NHL goalies have led to improvements in the new leg pad.

Some of the key new features in the Ultrasonic pads are the 151 Degree Shocklite Core, the Stabilislide Knee Block, and the redesigned Tune Fit strapping system for the Supreme lineup.

External Material
One of the key returning features in the Bauer Supreme line is the C.O.R.Tech ST skin material used to make up the pad. The acronym standing for Coefficient of Restitution is a technology designed with the rebound in mind. C.O.R.Tech allows the leg pad to quickly return to its original shape after deflecting a puck off the face of the pad. This essentially means the Ultrasonic will give off a harder, longer rebound, keeping the puck away from the net. Compared to the traditional Jenpro material, C.O.R.Tech is a lighter material and provides an exceptional slide along the ice. The ST, standing for Super Tough, has been 3 times more durable than the previous material used on Bauer Supreme leg pads.

Internal Construction
The Bauer UltraSonic pad introduces a new 151 Degree Shocklite Core. Continuing with the traditional Supreme stiff and rigid pad, the Shocklite core maintains a stiffness that the structure and longevity of the leg pad. The 151 degree angle between the thigh rise and the shin combines for a solid wide butterfly.

Also new on the Ultra Sonic leg pad is the Asymmetrical CURV composite thigh rise. The redesigned thigh rise makes getting in to position easier and creates a better seal and coverage in the butterfly.

Pad Break
The Ultra Sonic pads continue to feature a single break below the knee, maintaining a stiffer leg pad. The stiffer pad and stiffer boot angle combine with the C.O.R.Tech provides a longer rebound off the pad and more time to react to the next shot.

Boot Angle & Toe Taper
The boot angle on the Supreme Ultrasonic leg pad is Bauer’s Connect Flex 125 degree boot angle. Paired with the stiffer core of the pad, the slightly softer boot flex allows for mobility in the crease. Toe Taper comes in at 90 degrees to give maximum coverage and allows for a flush post seal.

Knee Cradle
The Stabilislide knee block is designed to raise the goaltender off the ice, covering more of the net, and creating a solid base in the butterfly position. The Ultra Sonic pads will have a rigid “L” shaped segment that connects the pad core directly to the knee block, reducing the flex between the pad and the knee block.

Knee & Thigh Protection
Unlike previous generations of Bauer Supreme Leg Pads, the Supreme UltraSonic does not feature a knee or thigh pad.

Strapping
The strapping on the Bauer UltraSonic leg pad is the Tune Fit strapping. Tune Fit is a quick and simple setup, using 3 velcro straps on the back of the pad. The main areas of the straps wrap around are the upper calf or knee, on the calf, and one outer velcro strap. The upper calf strap has been slightly redesigned to pair with the new Stabilislide knee block, as the stack does not have the previous layered design allowing for the velcro strap attachment. Bauer has added a tab on the inside of the knee block to allow for the strap to be attached.

The new Supreme line will feature Bauer’s new bungee cord toe strapping system. The stretchy toe tie system will allow the leg pad the flexibility to move freely with a quick rebound back into its original position. The toe cords are offset on the pad off the shelf, but have additional positions to be centered if preferred.

Bauer Supreme UltraSonic Senior Goalie Leg Pads - Pro Sample - Pro Stock sizing chart

Goalie Leg Pad Sizing

Sizing up your goalie leg pads is crucial for having total control while moving in the crease. There are two different measurements you can use to project the size of leg pad you should be wearing. The first one is your floor-to-knee measurement, which you can match up with our provided sizing charts to find the size of pad you would wear, before plus sizing. The second is the sum of your skate size, mid-ankle-to-mid-knee measurement, and your mid-knee-to-mid-thigh measurement. This measurement gives you a rough idea of what overall size pad you should purchase.

Sizing before Purchase
For measuring your floor-to-knee:

    1. In your bare feet, place the beginning of your soft measuring tape at the inside of the bottom of your foot.
    2. Slightly bend your knee.
    3. Run the soft measuring tape up your shin, to the middle of your knee.
    4. Match your floor-to-knee measurement with our provided sizing charts.

Skate size + mid-ankle-to-mid-knee + mid-knee-to-mid-thigh
    1. Take your skate size (for example, size 10).
    2. Start your soft measuring tape at the inside of your mid-ankle, and run it up to your mid-knee (for example, 18 inches).
    3. Now, from your mid-knee, run your soft measuring tape to your mid-thigh (for example, 7 inches).
    4. Add your measurements together (10 + 18 + 7 = 35 inches).
    5. This means you should be looking into a 35” pad, give or take.

It should be noted that these measurements line you up for an accurate fit, and not a fit that is intended for growing room. Also, different brands size differently, meaning a 35” pad in one can be a 34” or 36” in another.

Sizing after Purchase
Once you have your new leg pads, you’ll need to make sure they fit you properly. To do so, you’ll need to put the pads on with your skates, as if you are about to go on the ice. There a couple things to do to check size, once you have the pads on:

    1. Stand straight, bring your feet together. This will show you the overall height of the pad, while on. Your pads should not, in any case, surpass your hips. Realistically, you want the top of your pad coming up to half-way point of your thighs. A pad fitted for growing room will be a little taller, so a little above the half-way point is normal. In any case, your preferences can alter these suggestions.
    2. Secondly, go in your stance, keep your hands in a ready position, and drop to your butterfly. Without moving your legs to correct your butterfly, bring your heels together. This is where you assess your knee position. For a perfect fit, you want the middle of your knee to sit directly on the centre of the knee stack. If you’re looking for growing room, you want the middle of your knee to land roughly 1.5” below the centre of the knee stack—1” for junior.

Additional Information
Not getting a complete seal while in your butterfly?

If you are having trouble getting a full seal in your new pads, it may be the way you’re strapping them up. If this is the case for you, make sure your boot strap and top (above knee) straps are loosened up a bit. The reason you want these straps loose is because they have a direct effect on the rotation of the pad. Therefore, having a loose boot strap makes it easy for your foot and ankle to rotate as the pad moves; same goes for the top straps, as you do not want them pulling down too hard on the thigh rise.

I am very impressed with this store and how they recently handled my online order. I placed an order for skates and the next day received a phone call stating that they must have "oversold" their stock for those skates and did not have any remaining stock for me. Most stores would have left it there and refunded the customer - which would have left the customer frustrated. Instead, this store called me and told me because this was a mistake on their end, they were going to upgrade my purchase (free of charge) to the recent model of the same skate - this is a massive upgrade. They also put in a set of steel because the other skates came with them. This is a prime example of fantastic customer service, something that is honestly completely forgotten these days. Well done guys. I have already recommended you to a ton of people and will shop with you again.

Exceptional customer service every time I have shopped here for my kids. The staff consistently go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and ensure you leave with exactly what you are looking for. They always try to find you the best deal and even recommend sale items first, with absolutely no pressure to buy. They are so personable with young kids and make the experience exciting and special. They helped my son choose a new hockey stick, taking the time to watch him shoot both left- and right-handed to make sure he found the right fit. Another staff member even taped my daughter's hockey stick with pink tape just because she loved pink. Those little touches make a big difference. The store has a great selection, excellent prices (often better than second-hand stores), and every visit has been a positive experience. Whoever is hiring and training the staff is doing a fantastic job. Highly recommend! 👏

Amazing retail experience from start to finish. The store is beautiful, well stocked, organized, and easily one of the best hockey stores in North America. Their skate fitting, purchasing process, and after sales service are second to none. They take the time to make sure your skates fit properly, feel comfortable, and don’t leave you dealing with foot pain afterward. Skate sharpenings are perfect every time and reasonably priced. I have complete confidence in their ability to profile blades and correct issues caused by other shops or sharpening machines. I won’t take my family’s skates anywhere else anymore. Their return policy is also well above the industry standard, with 90 days on items with tags, and the ability to try hockey sticks before purchasing is a huge bonus. Most importantly, the staff are extremely knowledgeable about equipment, fitting, and current sales. For new hockey parents especially, you can trust their staff to point you in the right direction. They know what they’re doing, they won’t oversell you, and they’ll make sure your little one is properly set up. I make the trip from Poco on a regular basis. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience at The Hockey Shop Source for Sports and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for hockey equipment. I stopped in to pick up an affordable pair of skates for public skating, and the staff made the entire process easy and stress-free. They took the time to answer my questions, helped me find a pair that fit both my needs and my budget, and never made me feel pressured to spend more than I wanted. It’s refreshing to shop somewhere that focuses on finding the right product instead of simply making the biggest sale. After I chose my skates, the staff heat-molded them for me to improve the fit. They explained the process, made sure everything fit comfortably, and gave me tips on breaking them in properly. That extra level of service made a noticeable difference and showed they genuinely care about helping customers leave with equipment that fits correctly. The store itself is clean, organized, and has a huge selection of gear for players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re buying your first pair of skates or upgrading high-end equipment, there’s plenty to choose from. Overall, the friendly staff, knowledgeable service, and professional skate fitting made this an excellent shopping experience. I’ll definitely be returning for future hockey gear and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Hockey Shop Source for Sports to anyone looking for quality equipment and outstanding customer service. 🏒🥅

As far as retail gear goes, Hockey Shop can’t be beat. Great selection in stock and knowledgeable staff, who are particularly helpful with skate fittings. Team Sales is where Hockey Shop really shines. I’ve dealt with Emma in that section for custom gear with multiple teams. She responds fast, gets things done even faster and every order is perfect, whether it’s for one jersey or swag for an entire team. Call Team Sales and ask for Emma if you needs things done right. Highly recommended!
