Editor's Take "The game of hockey is constantly changing, with the pace getting faster and faster every year. For the player with more of a power stride, you'll need a bit more than your skating to get past the competition."

"We're excited to see this skate in action."

Intro and New Features Top-of-the-line for 2024, the Bauer Supreme Shadow Senior Hockey Skates feature a series of major upgrades from the previous Supreme Mach line, including new AMP Flex Facing, a Powercoil tongue, 12K Carbon Curv construction, and the new FLY-TI steel. With Supremes, it's all about power and making the most out of every stride, and the Shadow takes that to the next level.

Skate Fit Profile The Supreme Shadow skates are available in Bauer's Fits 1, 2, and 3:

  • Fit 1: Low volume, narrow width (closest to the classic Vapor fit)
  • Fit 2: Medium volume, medium width (closest to the classic Supreme fit)
  • Fit 3: High volume, wide width (closest to the classic Nexus fit)

This system lets players with any foot shape enjoy the power-focused performance of the Supreme line.

Boot Construction and Stiffness The Shadow is outfitted with Unibody Powerwrap Technology, which hardens the outsole for more efficient energy transfer from your legs to the ice. 3D Lasted 12K Carbon Curv Composite construction keeps the skate lightweight and fully thermoformable, while the Thermoformable Anaform Upper enhances the custom-fit feel.

Liner and Internal Padding A Lock-Fit Pro liner delivers extra grip, durability, and moisture management for comfort and performance throughout every game. Aerofoam Pro Technology is built into the ankle padding, designed thicker than conventional foam but more form-fitting and thermoformable for a personalized lock-in.

Powercoil Tongue Taking inspiration from the old Vapor 2X Pro, the Supreme Shadow features a Powercoil tongue with increased recoil speed. The added recoil adds an extra push to every stride, helping power-focused skaters get more out of every push.

Steel and Holder The Shadow comes equipped with the new FLY-TI Steel, a premium titanium-coated runner designed for greater power and response. The new Powerfly Holder keeps the blade locked in place for a confident, energy-efficient feel.

Asymmetrical Toe Cap An updated asymmetrical toe cap eliminates dead space within the boot for a better overall fit, building on a concept introduced in previous high-end Bauer skates.

Reflex Tendon Guard Bauer's original Flex tendon guard has been refined into the new Reflex tendon for 2024. With no inserts, an aggressive shape, and flex notches, the Reflex adds spring to your stride while staying tough enough to recoil back quickly.

AMP Flex Lacing System The Shadow uses AMP (Active Motion Performance) Flex Facing between the second and third eyelets, allowing increased forward flex for a better range of motion. The result is the ability to tie your skates fully to the top eyelet while retaining optimal ankle mobility.

Insoles A Lock-Fit Pro footbed completes the interior of the skate, designed to lock your foot in place so you can push off with confidence on every stride. The addition of Grip Print adds even more hold for control on every edge.

Graphics For 2024, Bauer scrapped the signature gold of the Supreme line in favour of a clean, black look with subtle checkered weave patterns on the sides. "Shadow" is displayed on the outside heels, and Bauer's new graphic logo appears on the back, giving the skates a sharper, more modern appearance.

Why Players Choose Supreme Shadow

  • New FLY-TI steel for power and edge response
  • Powercoil tongue for added recoil and stride power
  • 12K Carbon Curv composite construction for lightweight stiffness
  • AMP Flex Facing for full lace-up mobility
  • Reflex tendon guard for explosive stride recovery
  • Available in Fits 1, 2, and 3 to match any foot shape

Whether you're an elite-level player chasing every edge or a serious recreational skater ready to upgrade to top-tier gear, the Bauer Supreme Shadow Senior Hockey Skates deliver the power, fit, and feel that lets you take your stride to the next level.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide

When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.

As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.

It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.

An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.

To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).

Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.

***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
