Experience the next level of protection and performance with the Supreme Matrix Hockey Shoulder Pads. The gear is designed to offer unparalleled protection against impacts in all directions while still allowing for lots of mobility. The Supreme Matrix shoulder pads are a Source for Sports Exclusive product, which means the pads are constructed with higher-end features at a more affordable price point.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulder caps feature molded Hyperlite foam, providing lightweight yet high-density impact protection to shield players from collisions and hits. The design of the shoulder caps allows for enhanced mobility, enabling players to move freely on the ice while still maintaining solid protection.
Sternum Protection
The sternum area on these shoulder pads features a floating design that optimizes protection and mobility. With this design, the sternum can move independently, adapting to the player’s body movements and providing a secure yet flexible fit. Bauer features the use of CURV Composite material in this area to ensure that the protection remains lightweight without compromising on safety. The front panel of the shoulder pads feature a new Adaptiv Rib protection design. This construction allows the body to move, while keeping the padding in place, leaving players protected and secure at all times.
Spine Protection
The shoulder pads are constructed with a segmented spine featuring a PE insert, designed to provide advanced protection for players. The segmented design allows the spine protection to move independently, conforming to the player’s body and providing a comfortable fit. The PE inserts enhance the impact resistance of the spine area, effectively absorbing and dispersing force from high-velocity shots and collisions on the ice.
Bicep Protection
The biceps showcase Active Motion Protection (AMP) split bicep technology, which enables players to move their arms freely, enhancing their range of motion during gameplay, without compromising protection. The pads also incorporate molded CURV Composite material for reliable protection and a lightweight design that you can expect from high-level hockey gear.
Liner
The shoulder pads use Bauer’s Thermomax Liner, which is designed to effectively manage moisture and keep players dry during intense gameplay. It utilizes moisture-wicking materials that help to draw sweat away from the body and accelerate evaporation, promoting a more comfortable and odour-free experience. By keeping the player’s body dry, the Thermomax liner aims to enhance performance and comfort on the ice.

Hockey Shoulder Pads Sizing Information
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
