Serving players since 1988.Bauer has been developing their RE-AKT helmets for about a decade, and the RE-AKT 85 builds on the success of the previous RE-AKT 75. Featuring new Defense Cloud technology, a freeform adjustment system, and an Aerolite 3.0 shell, this performance-level helmet gives you the confidence you need at a more budget-friendly price point.
Outer Shell Construction The shell is built from Aerolite 3.0, similar to what's used on Bauer's Hyperlite protective line. This shell supports the new Defense Cloud Technology (DCT) in absorbing impact forces, and combined with the standard vinyl nitrile material used in most helmets today, the RE-AKT 85 delivers some of Bauer's best helmet protection at a more accessible price.
Internal Foams and Liner The RE-AKT 85 uses Bauer's new Defense Cloud Technology, an advanced foam Bauer has been implementing across many of their 2022 protective products. This material is soft, comfortable, form-fitting, and lightweight. Inside, the helmet features Bauer's Thermocore Zero liner, which excels at wicking moisture and odor while keeping you cool through every shift.
Fit and Sizing Adjustment A true upgrade from the RE-AKT 75 is the new freeform, tool-free adjustment system that adjusts both the length and width of the helmet. With ongoing research on head injuries highlighting the importance of a properly fitted helmet for each individual head shape, the freeform adjustment system gives you more control over how your helmet sits and fits. It's important to note that while helmets can reduce the risk of head injury, no helmet can 100% protect against concussions.
Certification The RE-AKT 85 is certified by HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and CE (European Community), meeting compliance standards across major leagues and regions.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
Protects the noggin’, comfy, and adjustable. Not too big either, so it doesn’t make you look like The Great Gazoo.
Excellent service, quick shipping
