The new Bauer GSX is the perfect model for all those goalies out there trying to ball on a budget or for those who don't need the elite level performance of the 3S and UltraSonic. It is their newest rendition of Bauer’s S27 glove. Ranging in sizes from Senior all the way down to the little guys in the Prodigy Youth gear.

External Material
The entirety of the exterior of this glove is covered in a synthetic leather material to give good durability, as well as some good performance at this price point.

Break Angle
The break angle on the new Supreme trapper is similar to the previous model, in a 75 degree break. The break is geared toward the fingertip-thumb closure angle, resulting in a wide open feel when the catch surface is open.

Pocket Design
The GSX glove does not retain the catchlite palm that both the 3S and the Ultra Sonic have, instead the palm is completely synthetic leather. Although the catcher doesn't feature Bauer’s catchlite the closure of the glove is still very responsive.

The pocket features the double “T” introduced in the 2S Pro trapper. The benefits of the double “T” include a wider pocket opening and improved puck tracking when looking through the pocket when freezing the puck.

Strapping
The strapping of the GSX is taken from the previous generation, including a nylon wrist straps, velcro backhand & finger straps. The straps on the trapper allow for a relatively customizable fit to keep the trapper comfortably in place without the worry of it being jarred loose.

Cuff Design
The GSX glove will be featuring a one-piece cuff just like the rest of the Supreme family. The internals will be filled by a varying density of foams, while the exterior of the cuff will be using the synthetic leather.

Colors
The Bauer GSX JR trapper is available in White, Black, Navy, and Red. The GSX Goalie Glove is available in Regular hand (worn on your left hand) in all colourways, and Full Right (worn on your right hand) in All White.

Goalie Catcher Sizing

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.

Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.

Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*

Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.

Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.

Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.

    Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
  • Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
  • Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
