Returns & Exchanges

Everything you need to know about returning or exchanging your purchase at The Hockey Shop.

At The Hockey Shop, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn't right, our return and exchange process is simple and hassle-free.

Start a Return or Exchange Online

Eligible items can be returned or exchanged using our Returns Portal. The portal walks you through the entire process, including generating a discounted return shipping label. The label fee is automatically deducted from your refund.

If you'd prefer to ship the item back yourself using your own shipping method, there is no restocking fee.

Return In-Store

You can also visit us in person at our retail location in Langley, BC. This is the only location where in-store returns and exchanges can be processed.

Return Policy Highlights

  • Up to 90 days from the date of purchase to return an item
  • Items must be unused and in new, original condition with all tags attached
  • Refunds are processed using the same payment method as the original purchase

Exchanges

Most items purchased from TheHockeyShop.com are eligible for return within 90 days of purchase, as long as they are unused, unmodified, and in new condition with all original tags attached.

This includes hockey sticks, skates, helmets, gloves, protective gear, goalie equipment, apparel, and accessories.

Important: Items that have been used, worn, or modified in any way cannot be returned. If equipment shows signs of use on the ice, in practice, or otherwise, it will not be accepted for return.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return regardless of condition, due to hygiene, safety, or final sale reasons:

  • Jocks & jills
  • Baselayer bottoms
  • Boxers & briefs
  • Mouth guards
  • PPE and fabric face masks
  • Final sale items

These items will be clearly marked on the product page. If you're unsure whether an item is returnable before purchasing, contact us.

Avoid the hassle of a return by checking our Sizing & Information Guide before you order. Our team is also happy to help with sizing questions.

It depends on how you choose to ship your return. In either case, there is no restocking fee.

Option 1: Use Our Discounted Return Label

If you generate a return shipping label through our Returns Portal, the label fee is typically $15–$20 and is automatically deducted from your refund total. This is the easiest option as the portal handles everything for you.

Option 2: Ship It Yourself

If you'd prefer to arrange your own shipping, there is no restocking fee. Simply ship the item back and your full refund will be processed once we receive it. Make sure to use a tracked shipping method so you can confirm delivery.

You can also return items in person at our Langley, BC location at no cost. Head to our Returns Portal to get started.

Once your return has been received at our warehouse and processed, you'll be notified via email that your refund has been issued. Please allow 1–3 business days after that notification for the refund to reflect in your account.

The refund will be processed using the same payment method as the original purchase. If you used our discounted return label through the Returns Portal, the label fee will be deducted from your refund total automatically.

Refund Timeline

  1. Ship your return or drop it off at our Langley, BC location
  2. Our team receives and inspects the item
  3. You receive a confirmation email that your refund has been issued
  4. Refund appears in your account within 1–3 business days

Refund Not Showing Up?

If it's been more than 3 business days since you received your refund confirmation email and the funds haven't appeared, check with your bank or credit card provider first as processing times can vary. If the issue persists, contact us and we'll look into it.
