Warrior Ritual G3 Custom Blocker & Trapper Review
Warrior Ritual G3 Custom Blocker
The Ritual G3 blocker keeps a similar lightweight design as the G2, weighing in at 1.85 lbs. At first glance, the G3 blocker has a very solid look, with a bindingless design and solid sideboard attachment. The blocker board follows the trend of most blockers and has a less aggressive board curvature, making rebounds more predictable.
The side board of the blocker is sewn in directly to the blocker board, creating a stable blocking surface for any awkward save. A notable feature of the blocker, as a whole, is how thick the foam is; the G3 provides ample protection, from any angle, to keep your hand bruise-free.
Protection from any angle isn’t a joke. The Ritual G3 features contoured thumb and finger protection. Constructed with HD foam and molded plastic, the thumb and finger protection is capable of taking a beating from even the hardest shooters on the ice, making you a little more comfortable with throwing limbs in any direction to make a save.
And, of course, continued on from last season’s Ritual G2, the G3 has a removable palm. This allows any goaltender to put in a palm that fits their hand correctly (palm sizes come in M, L, XL, and Intermediate sizes). Another great feature of the removable palms is that you can machine wash them to keep them fresh.
Warrior Ritual G3 Custom Trapper
Warrior wants to keep your glove hand quick, because it can be the difference between a highlight goal and a highlight save. The Ritual G3 trapper weighs in at an astonishing 1.75 lbs, making it lighter than any pro spec trapper on the market. The glove is constructed with lightweight HD foam and molded plastics, which also makes the glove’s closure very easy. The major use of HD foam creates a pretty thick palm and finger protection, to help avoid any stingers—sometimes, of course, those stingers are just unavoidable.
Like the Ritual G2, the G3 features a removable palm that can be machine washed, to stay fresh. These palms also come in various break angles (60, 75, 90 degrees, and Intermediate 75 degrees) to allow the goalie to get a preferred feel with the trapper. Using the Velcro liners, the different palms can be specifically positioned to close the glove at the desired angle. The key to switching out the palms is to make sure they are positioned on the Velcro correctly, to allow the glove to close properly.
Another feature used in the Ritual G3 trapper is Warrior’s AxyFlex. AxyFlex facilitates a full range of motion in the glove’s closure and opening. You’ll notice, when closing and opening the G3, that it easily snaps back open. This is because the AxyFlex easily shifts the glove into either motion.
The Warrior Ritual G3 series will be available in both the stock graphic and the ‘Classic’ graphic, this April!
