Ribcor keeps gaining more loyal followers due to its well proven performance. The 2017 Ribcor Trigger² stick should continue to build on this trend. With a new improved taper, the ease of loading and the quickness of release is impressive. The addition of an enhanced flex zone in the upper shaft also allows the shooter to load more energy by using their top hand as a lever. By combining all these new features with Sigmatex composite technology, what you get is a lightweight stick that is well balanced, increased durability and most importantly has great pop.
Kick Point
PMT – Pop Matrix Technology
Ribcor has been recognized as the low kick option in CCM’s family of sticks. That’s why an improved taper on the Trigger² is a big deal. A new seamless taper profile offers a smooth transition area which now gives Ribcor a true low kick profile. This new shape has been engineered to allow for greater vertical bending in the lower taper area for maximum shooting efficiency. This is a nice improvement from last year’s Trigger as the extra material in the construction of the hosel was one of the few question marks I had about the efficiency of Ribcor’s low kick-point. I personally felt that the original Trigger (and previous Ribcor models) had more of a mid/low kick point because of this. I don’t think the mid/low kick point hurt previous versions as Ribcor has always been my CCM stick of choice. The new taper geometry is a significant improvement and players looking for a true low-kick profile will fall in love with Trigger 2.0’s release, while traditional Ribcor fans will still experience a familiar feel with improved performance.
Crossbow Effect
Developed directly from data acquired from CCM’s performance lab in Montreal, the Ribcor Trigger² profile features an enhanced flex zone in the upper third of the shaft to allow players to store maximum energy in the upper and lower parts of the shaft to create a crossbow effect while shooting.
Shaft Construction
Sigmatex
An exclusive fabric developed by one of the world’s leaders in composite technology that is not only ultra-lightweight, but very strong due to its high-tension weaving process. This gives Trigger² a shaft construction manufactured from the lowest fiber areal weight carbon in the industry to optimize performance and minimize weight, while maximizing strength.
Final Thoughts
If you’re a fan of other low-kick sticks like Vapor 1X and Warrior QRL you’ll love the Ribcor Trigger² . CCM has packed a lot of new design and technology into the newest Ribcor stick while maintaining a familiar feel. The less flashy graphics are traditional but have just enough pop and green highlights to make this a rich looking stick that has an undoubtedly high-end look.
