New for 2022, Vaughn presents another installment in the SLR series. The SLR3 Pro blocker comes with a range of high-performance features, including QuickSlide, an ergonomically shaped dual-layered palm, and a full pro, no-binding construction. The SLR3 series is engineered specifically to optimize performance in the butterfly position.
External Material
The SLR3 Pro blocker uses classic jenpro synthetic leather on the exterior. Jenpro is well-known for its superior durability and performance. Vaughn’s QuickSlide has been added to the bottom edge to protect that area from wear and tear and increase sliding ability on the stick. Nylon mesh can be found on the cuff and thumb for good breathability in those areas. The board has a bindingless construction, increasing blocking space.
Internal Construction
Extra stiffness in the top board increases precision while deflecting the puck. The inside is made of high-density foam for good blocking and to deaden impact force as it reaches your hand. The use of HD foam also makes the blocker very lightweight.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
