Made in Canada, the Vaughn Ventus SLR Pro Carbon trapper has one of the market's best feels, having a large catching area and a slimmer, deeper single-T pocket to maximize puck retention.
Like the SLR's predecessor, LT98, the palm, back thumb and cuff include carbon fiber reinforcement to maximize protection and durability while keeping weight to a minimum.
Internally, Vaughn has lined the trapper with a positive grip base and antimicrobial treatment to help the goaltender maintain control despite moisture buildup. A new style back hand strapping system, which includes a comfort foam pad over the internal wrist strap, allows for tighter adjustments without sacrificing range of motion.
Furthermore, Vaughn has made the T-bridge thinner, in order to make the glove close easier. By decreasing the width, less material influences the closure. This is to ensure the pocket closes on the same angle as the palm of the glove. Overall, Vaughn has re-distributed the glove's size, by taking surface area from the trapper and making the catching surface larger.
