New for Spring 2019, the Brian’s Optik 9.0 senior blocker, bringing with it a great quality build that is expected from Brian’s as well as a new design that anybody can enjoy. This performance blocker is ideal for those that want to get the Optik glove or Brian's quality but don’t necessarily need the pro model.
External Material
Brian’s sticks with traditional Jenpro leather on the outside of the Optik 9.0 blocker, proven to be durable, this is the best way for Brian’s to maintain quality without having a pro pricetag.
Palm Material
The palm is constructed, using Nash-like material for comfort. Brian’s 9.0 blocker has a strong wear-resistant material on the palm as well to increase durability in the area where your stick would be held.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
