The Warrior Ritual V1 SR+ senior goalie stick is a replacement for the Ritual CR2 that warrior had previously. The stick will feel very similar, but is wrapped in an extremely good looking graphic that is sure to attract goalies that want a composite stick that looks like one of their wood foam cores. The SR+ also features many of the same features found on its big brothers the V1 Pro and Pro+.

Shaft Construction
The shaft of the SR+ uses much of the great tech from the V1 Pro and V1 Pro+. This includes the Impact Fiber Layer, which improves the durability of the shaft from direct shots. The shaft also utilizes HiFused construction which does a lot to improve the balance of the stick so that it feels much lighter than it is. Finally the VibexLite technology that runs from tip to toe in the stick creates a damp feeling that limits vibration especially when compared to other composite sticks.

Paddle Construction
The paddle of the V1 SR+ includes TwinSpar technology to create a durable and stiff shaft the helps with shooting by creating more pop when flexed. The Minimus 800 that is used in the construction of the entire stick also creates a light platform that has great feel in part because of the VibexLite technology as well.

Blade Construction/Stiffness
The blade of the V1 SR+ senior goalie stick is just as stiff as the rest of the stick, which makes sense considering it has the same Minimus 800 construction all the way through. The Minimus 800 is a solid material for creating a stiff blade without pushing the cost of the stick too high.

Graphics
The V1 SR+ features some of the best looking graphics in the entire V1 line. Although it does not have any cool exposed carbon like its bigger brothers, the solid white (or black) base leaves the stick with a clean and foam core like look. The SR+ is available in Black/Silver, White/Black, White/Red and White/Blue.

Grip
The SlideGrip tech that is appears on the V1 Pro and V1 Pro+ makes it way down the SR+ senior composite sticks. This SlideGrip tech limits the friction of the stick during poke checks by using a raised and matted finish. At the top of the paddle, in the brightly coloured zone it is very different however. The bright colours represent a tacky grippy zone that improves control during play and makes sure the stick isn’t dropped.

Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths, Stick Lengths, Weight, Level of Play
The V1 SR+ senior sticks are available in 25”, 26” and 27.5” variations. As well Quick (mid), Bishop (twist), and Mrazek (wedge) curves will be available for regular handed goalies. The SR+ is best described as a performance level stick. Not quite as expensive and performance oriented as the Elite level sticks, however still built to endure a high level of play, and abuse.

Goalie Stick Sizing Information

Unlike other pieces of gear, Goalie Sticks are sized mostly to the goaltender’s preference and playing style rather than their height. The most important measurement, when purchasing a new goal stick, is the paddle height (the wide portion of the stick), which is usually taken from the heel of the stick to the shaft/paddle interface. The reason for the paddle height’s significance is because it sets up the goaltender’s depth in the ready stance and (if properly sized) positions the blocker in an optimal position.

Sizing Your Goalie Stick
To start analyzing the size of your goalie stick, put on your goalie skates to get an accurate height of where you will be in your stance. If you’re looking to be even more accurate, strap on your goalie pads and blocker as well. Once that is done, get comfortable in your natural stance (the one you’d be in during a majority of gameplay) and look for the following:
1. The entire blade of the stick is flush with the ground while being 1’ - 2’ in front of your feet
2. After getting your stick into the flush position, check that the inside edge of the blocker hand sits on the outside edge of the goal pad (this is while holding just above the paddle).

Goalie Stick Sizing Considerations
Goalie Stick sizing can be very subjective compared to other pieces of equipment. The reason for this is the ambiguity of each goaltenders ‘natural stance’, especially with younger goaltenders. It is rather common for children to use taller sticks in comparison to their height, as their stance depth isn’t usually as aggressive as a seasoned goalie.

The shaft length of a goalie stick is usually best left at its stock length, as it serves to counteract the weight of the blade and ideally place the center of gravity at the top of the paddle. The one exception to this rule is for advanced puck handlers, cutting the shaft will allow more power transfer when shooting as a result of being able to keep the blade flush to the ice while near the goaltender’s feet.
