New for 2021, Bauer builds off their winning blocker formula. The Bauer Vapor HyperLite Senior Goalie Blocker utilizes a lightweight and balanced design that provides goalies with improved rebound control. The combination of Bauer’s proprietary C.O.R tech skin and Rebound Boost core enhance a line already synonymous with hot rebounds.
External Material
The Hyperlite blocker is wrapped in Bauer’s C.O.R. Tech Plus skin. A familiar technology on Bauer’s recent leg pads and blockers, the idea behind C.O.R. Tech is to create a harder, faster rebound. Coefficient of restitution, or C.O.R Tech, achieves this through the material returning to its original state faster than other skin types; effectively creating a “trampoline” effect for the puck.
Internal Construction
The internals of the Hyperlite feature a mix of Bauer’s Rebound Boost core and Curv Composite. Both Rebound Boost and Curv work together to create a rigid blocker board, with extremely active rebounds. Debuting on Bauer’s first 1S blocker, Curv composite has been used throughout the face of Bauer blockers to create a stiff board, and in turn harder rebounds. Rebound Boost is a brand new construction method that brings the same core found on the pads to the blocker board. When combined with their Curv composite, this makes for an extremely hard face providing some of the hardest rebounds seen to date.
Palm Material
The palm of the Hyperlite is Bauer’s 14.5” Connekt+ technology. The 14.5” palm is a slightly shrunk down size reducing excess material to create a more snug fit. Connekt+ is the same material found in the 2X Pro player gloves; it’s a super soft, supple and yet durable material that gives the Hyperlite blocker a rich, comfortable feel on the hand while enhancing the stick feel through the palm. The Hyperlite palm also has a thin layer of padding to help reduce any vibrations from stick saves.
Side Hand Protection
The Hyperlite blocker uses a Catchlite side wall which is a thin composite material sewn and laced into the face of the blocker. The full composite construction is extremely stiff while also being ergonomically shaped in order to fit closely to the body without interfering with the chest guard.
Cuff
The cuff of the Hyperlite is made up of asymmetrical Aerolite foam. Aerolite is a protective foam that is incredibly lightweight. Bauer has designed this cuff asymmetrically, to promote full wrist mobility when making saves and playing the puck.
Hand Protection
The back of the fingertips have foam added to them to give a bit of extra protection. Each finger with the exception of the index is individually velcro adjustable while the thumb protector uses a molded guard also lined with Poron along with a thumb pillow to absorb the impact of sidewall shots. A velcro removable pad is located by the index finger that helps to stop pucks from riding up the stick injuring the goalie's hand.
Colors & Customization
The Vapor Hyperlite Blocker is offered in the stock colours of all White, White/Black, White/Navy, White/Blue and White/Red. However, goalies that seek more custom options can customize their dream set on Bauer.com. Bauer also offers their True Design custom graphics program, creating endless possibilities for goalies through their digi-print capabilities.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
