New for 2019, the CCM Super Tacks AS2 Pro SR Hockey Stick builds off the previous Super Tacks AS1 model. The Tacks AS2 Pro Stick brings back X-Flow shaft technology and Sigmatex composite material, but welcomes the all new ACU4 XX-Stiff Blade. The AS2 Pro Stick is mainly a black stick with yellow highlights, giving you a hockey stick that is as sharp aesthetically as it is snapping the puck around.

Stick Flex Profile
The AS2 Pro features a soft mid-section that allows for a longer period to store more energy. A stiff taper zone maximizes stability and response. The long loading period combined with the stability at the taper zone is ideal for heavy shooters who like to lean into their shots while maintaining maximum control of the accuracy.

Shaft Construction
CCM’s X-Flow technology is an advanced molding technology that eliminates excess resin and voids to improve the durability and reduce the overall weight of the stick.

The AS2 Pro uses X-Flow technology to provide a lightweight feel with maximum durability. The advanced compaction of the fibers provides a lightweight and well-balanced stick.

Blade Construction/Stiffness
The 2019 CCM Super Tacks AS2 Pro is CCM’s stiffest stick blade yet. An upgrade over the previous ACU3 blade, the ACU4 XX-Stick Blade utilizes lightweight construction with a tactile surface for maximum feel and shot control.

CCM once again uses their high performance Sigmatex material to provide lightweight strength and resilience. The high performance spread tow fabric features an innovative weaving process that provides superior strength while maintaining an ultra lightweight feel. A stiffer stick blade allows for maximum strength while keeping you in control of the shot.

Graphics
The Super Tacks AS2 Pro Hockey Stick provides you an updated look from the AS1 Stick, but staying consistent to the black with yellow highlights color package.

Grip
The CCM AS2 Pro Hockey Stick comes equipped with the standard CCM tacky grip providing you good control for stick handling and puck control.

Hockey Player Stick Sizing & Information Guide

Selecting the right stick for you.
When it comes to sizing a Hockey Stick, the length tends to be a preference. Sticks come in Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Youth lengths with corresponding flex options. You will need to consider your weight and height or the person you are buying for in order to choose the correct size. Intermediate, Junior, and Youth hockey sticks will have smaller shaft dimensions, making them easier for young players to hold and control.

A stick can always be cut down in length, and will usually be cut down for kids. However, selecting a hockey stock too long in length or the wrong flex can hinder performance. For kids, junior, intermediate and senior all come in roughly standards length. In some cases, each Junior flex will be a different length of stick. Look at each and compare the height of the player you are buying for.

Flex can be tricky to pick as every hockey player is different and has their own preference. You can think of flex numbers as pounds of force. Having too stiff or too whippy a stick can hinder performance in their own ways.

Personalizing your stick length.
As mentioned before, length is very much personal preference. To determine a benchmark height, stand with your shoes off and the stick against your body with the toe on the ground. As a general rule of thumb we recommend sticks to come up to between your mouth and nose. For kids, or players who are still growing, the maximum height we recommend is eye level.

Mark the shaft of the stick where the height is desired and cut it down to length. Make sure to re-insert the plug from the top to prevent an open composite end at the top of your stick.

When cutting a stick down, keep in mind that the shorter you cut a stick, the stiffer it becomes. As a general rule, a stick increases 3% in stiffness for every inch cut off. If you are unsure how much you want to cut off, take the least amount first so that you can always cut more if necessary. Cutting the stick multiple times will not affect the sticks construction.

Information to Consider

Flex Options
Players want to be able to fully flex the stick. If a stick is too soft, the resulting shot will be inaccurate and weak. If a stick is too stiff, there will be no power behind the shot. Think of the flex number as pounds of force. This is the number of pounds that need to be put into the stick to fully flex it.

Curve Options
In most cases, sticks are offered in multiple blade curve pattern options. Please refer to our blade pattern charts for more information regarding the patterns available.

Kick Point Options
A Mid-kick stick will have a stiffer taper so that it flexes more in the middle of the shaft. These sticks have a longer loading time but offer a more powerful shot, perfect for players taking a lot of slap shots.

A Low-kick stick will have a stiffer middle of the shaft and softer taper so that it flexes at the bottom of the shaft closer to the blade. These sticks will have a much quicker release perfect for quick snap shots and writs shots.

Almost 5 out of 5 Stars

Recently, I wore out my CCM Trigger 2. Since it's been a little while since I last shopped for a stick, I was able to borrow four top-end sticks, including this AS2 Pro. In addition to my Trigger, I had a Warrior DX, Jetspeed FT2 and a Bauer Flylite. The first thing I noticed was that I didn't like the blade on my Trigger. It's inconsistent and requires specific placement of the puck on the blade to get the diving board effect. Regarding the newer sticks, the FT2 felt great in hand, but the flex point made it feel unsure if it wanted to be a low or mid kick. The Warrior DX had the best backhand I've ever had, but the flex point is weird and I had to think a lot. The blade was also too light and it was easy to miss hard passes. The Flylite was good, but come on...IT'S A SLIGHTLY IMPROVED EASTON CX STEALTH! It was just kinda, "Meh." Now for the AS2. The blade was amazingly accurate. It has a stiffer blade than the AS1, which lends to accuracy. The stick is was easy to load and does most of the work for you. It's the most well rounded stick available. I have the best wrist shot, slap shot and one timer I've ever had. It has the second best backhand behind the DX. Sauers are easy and the blade makes passing great. Here's your CONs. The shaft is a little thick, a 75 flex plays softer (to me) than other sticks, it's slightly heavier than the other sticks I tried and it's not a quick release stick. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars for that list of CONs. Go buy it!
