New for this season in the Ribcore lineup is the CCM RIBCOR 100K Pro SR Hockey Skates. The newest rendition of the popular skate model has some legacy features match up with several new additions to the skate. For the first time ever in the Ribcore family, the 100k Pro features CCM’s new one-piece boot technology. The entire boot is designed to increase your range of motion and optimize your performance to the highest level.

Also new this year for CCM after the recent acquisition of Step, the 100k Pro will come stock with the Step Blacksteel for the XS holder.

Skate Fit Profile
CCM has followed suit within the industry and made their skates more accessible to different foot shapes and profiles. Brand new to the high-end Ribcore line, and those to follow, will be the foot profiles tapered, regular, and wide fit options. The new fit system is a result of the most common shapes amongst the 3D Scan system CCM introduced a couple of years ago. They use this system with every NHL player they are associated with. Within the fit system, the Tapered fit will be most similar to the previous Jetspeed fit, whereas the Regular will be most like the Tacks line, and the Wide most like the previous Ribcore skates.

Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The quarter package on the CCM 100k Pro features the all new One-Piece Boot Flex made with RFM Composite. This revolutionary technology focuses on overall performance of the boot, energy transfer and acceleration, and reduced weight. The one-piece design reduces empty space within the skate for a better fit to maximize the energy transfer from the body, through the skate, and onto the ice.

The Ribcore boot will continue to be the softer stiffness level amongst CCM skates. This promotes quick movements and an increased range of motion to maximize your overall agility on the ice. On their stiffness performance index, the 100k Pro comes in at 175-185 variable flex, while the Jetspeed and Tack range to 195 and 215 respectively.

The softer stiffness level of approximately 180, paired with a new flexible tendon guard will give you an unmatched feeling and the ability to move deeply into your strides and sharp turns.

Liner & Internal Padding
The liner in the top of the line Ribcore skates is the TotalDri comfort. This high performance liner is moisture-wicking which keeps your feet dry and your skates light. The liner also helps in the post-skate drying stage to help the boots be ready for the next time they’re put on. This is great for tournaments and next day ice times when the turnaround time is fast.

The internal padding features an adapted memory foam to provide a comfortable wrap around the fit and to optimize the comfort of the skate. The injected smooth contour pro pad at the top of the boot provides additional comfort in a potential high pressure point area when games are getting intense.

Asymmetrical Toe Cap
New to CCM is the asymmetrical toe cap attached to the boot. Maintaining the same level of protection, the redesigned tope cap decreases the amount of negative space in the boot, improving the overall fit, and again, focusing on energy transfer from foot to skate.

Tongue

Another key upgrade new to the CCM Ribcore 100k Pro this year is the Replaceable Flexmotion Tongue. Hinging off of the XS tongue system in the Previous Jetspeed FT2, this 7 millimeter tongue flexmotion design allows you to increase your forward flexion, and offers advanced lace-bite protection.

However, the tongues are interchangeable on the new Ribcore 100k Pro skates, to allow a more customized fit and protection level. The available replacement options, or custom options are the Pro tongue with 10mm black felt, and the Lightweight 4mm tongue.

Insoles
The Molded CCM Ortholite Ultralite footbed in the 100k Pro is an ultra-light insole to provide maximum comfort and support for your arches. Supporting your arche is imperative in high intensity sports. Having this support allows your foot to stay in an athletic position instead of flattening out. This generates more power velocity in your stride.

Lacing System
The Ribcore line continues with the standard eyelet lacing system. The top eyelets are also reinforced for increased durability.

Steel Runner, Holder & Blade Profile
After the recent acquisition of Step, the high-end CCM skates will feature Step steel off the shelf. For the 100k Pro, the sensational Step Blacksteel will be the stock steel. The carbon-coated steel is regarded as one of the highest quality steels on the market, providing superior edge hardness and glide. The Blacksteel is also 4mm taller, which allows you to increase your attack angle and turning radius.

The CCM Speedblade XS is mounted on the 100k Pro skates, offering the sturdy quick release system that has become standard amongst top end players around the world.

Graphics
The new graphic for the CCM Ribcore line features a sleek black finish with chrome accents and logo along the base of the boot. This coupled with the Step Blacksteel will have you looking sharp as ever out on the ice.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide

When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.

As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.

It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.

An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.

To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).

Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.

***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
