The CCM Premier P2.9 blocker includes many of the features seen on the Premier II blocker, in a lower price range. The P2.9 blocker comes stock with a bindlingless edge to maximize blocker board size and improve durability. The HD foam sidewall makes for a solid blocking surface; paired with an air pillow next to the hand, any impacts are dissipated.

The palm is made with an emboss synthetic, so the goalie will not lose grip of their stick. The fingers are protected by a 7-piece HD foam configuration. By adding Speedskin to the design of the blocker, CCM has also lightened the design by a small margin.

The Source exclusive features for the blocker include a D30 first finger to help protect the goalie when a puck slides up the shaft of the stick.

Goalie Blockers Sizing

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.

Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.

Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.

Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.

    Blocker Hands Simplified
  • Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
  • Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
