The CCM Jetspeed FT4 INT Hockey Skate is a performance elite level skate one step down from the top of the line FT4 Pro skates. The FT4 offers many of the same features and performance in a more affordable package. The One-Piece Boot Speed is standard across both models, with the CCM XS quick release holder. CCM is now offering Step Steel stock with their FT4 models. Also new to the FT4 is the asymmetrical toe cap that reduces the amount of empty space in the boot, focusing on optimizing energy transfer through the boot.

Skate Fit Profile
CCM has followed suit within the industry and made their skates more accessible to different foot shapes and profiles. New for the high-end Jetspeed line, and those to follow, will be tapered, regular, and wide fit options. The new system fits are a result of the most common shapes amongst the 3D Scan system introduced a couple of years ago. The Tapered fit will be most similar to the previous Jetspeed fit, whereas the Regular will be most like the Tacks line, and the Wide most like the previous Ribcor skates.

Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The quarter package on the CCM FT4 features the One-Piece Boot Speed made with RFM Composite, the latest in their technology, focusing on overall performance of the boot, energy transfer and acceleration, and reduced weight. The one-piece design reduces empty space within the boot for a better fit to maximize the energy from the body through the skate and onto the ice.

The Jetspeed boot will continue to feature the middle stiffness level amongst CCM skates. This promotes a hybrid between speed and agility to maximize overall quickness on the ice. On their stiffness performance index, the FT4 comes in at 180, coming in between the Ribcor index around 175 and the Tacks index of 215.

The tendon guard continues to feature flexibility to increase the overall range of motion of the boot. The tendon guard flexes slightly forward and back to not limit the skater’s stride length.

Liner & Internal Padding
The liner in the Jetspeed FT4 skates is the TotalDri liner. The moisture-wicking liner helps your feet stay dry and the skates light during an ice session. The liner also helps dry skates after use to help the boots be ready for the next time they’re put on.

The TotalDri liner also features several areas of reinforcement for common high-wear areas, increasing the overall durability of the boot and liner.

The internal padding features multi-density memory foam comfort pads to provide a comfortable wrap around the fit and to optimize the comfort of the skate. The injected smooth contour pro pad at the top of the boot provides additional comfort in a potential high pressure point area.

Asymmetrical Toe Cap
New to CCM is the asymmetrical toe cap attached to the boot. Maintaining the same level of protection, the redesigned toe cap decreases the amount of negative space in the boot, improving the overall fit and again focusing on energy transfer.

Tongue
Stock on the CCM FT4 skates comes the Asymmetrical Tritech tongue. This is similar to previous renditions of the Jetspeed tongue, with the multi-layer metatarsal guard and 7mm white felt to improve ankle and foot wrap, as well as provide advanced lace-bite protection.

The tongues on the FT4 skates are interchangeable, to allow a more customized fit and protection level. The available replacement options, or custom options, are the Pro tongue with 10mm black felt, and the Lightweight 4mm tongue.

Insoles
The CCM Ortholite Ultralite footbed in the FT4s is a lightweight insole to provide maximum comfort and support for your arches.

Lacing System
The Jetspeed line continues with the tried and true standard eyelet lacing system. The top eyelets are also reinforced for increased durability.

Steel Runner, Holder & Blade Profile
After the recent acquisition of Step, high-end CCM skates will feature Step steel off the shelf. For the FT4, the popular Step Stainless steel will come stock. The high-quality steel is known as one of the best steel on the market. The steel is also 4mm taller, increasing attack angle and turning radius.

The CCM XS holder is mounted on the FT4 skates, providing the sturdy quick release system that has become standard amongst top end players around the world.

Graphics
The graphic on the CCM Jetspeed FT4 Intermediate Hockey Skates are quite similar to that of the FT4 Pro. The flashy but clean black red and white pattern will have the skates sure to be noticed.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide

When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.

As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.

It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.

An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.

To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).

Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.

***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
