The Bauer Supreme UltraSonic Goalie Blocker has taken some of the features from its predecessor and added new key features to introduce an improved blocker design. Some of the improvements include changes to the palm material and more customized finger protection.

External Material
The material found on the skin of the UltraSonic blocker is the C.O.R.Tech ST. The same material used on the leg pads and catcher, the C.O.R.Tech ST makes for an extremely durable external for the blocker. The Coefficient of Restitution Technology (C.O.R. TECH) is designed to quickly reset the material of the blocker back to its original state, which extends the distance of a rebounded puck away from the blocker.

Internal Construction
The internal construction of the Bauer UltraSonic blocker has been brought along from previous generations of Bauer goalie equipment, and features a CURV Composite blocker board with control foam. The board itself is not quite as thin as the Vapor line, but still provides excellent rebound control and durability. Combined with the C.O.R.Tech skin, the Supreme blocker is designed to push rebounds further away.

Palm Material
One of the key improvements in the new Supreme Ultra Sonic blocker is the updated palm. The material itself is familiar with the Quattro Control palm, but the amount of material has been changed. The excessive padding on the fingers has been removed, making the palm more similar to a player glove palm. The palm is still reinforced in the areas subject to wear, to maintain durability, but the reduced materials in the fingers provide an improved feel of the stick.

The Thermomax+ liner is inside the blocker, to absorb excessive sweat and dry out the blocker. The UltraSonic is made for the elite goalie in mind, who’s on the ice 3-4 times a week, giving you a quicker turnaround drying time.

Side Hand Protection
The shape of the blocker is going to be extremely familiar to those who have used a Supreme blocker recently. The side hand shape and protection is similar to the 2S Pro, providing protection with Bauer’s CURV Composite and Shocklite materials. Stock with Bauer’s UltraSonic blocker, there is no thumb pillow but can be added in when going the custom route.

Cuff
The cuff on the Bauer UltraSonic blocker is a Free Floating cuff. Taking inspiration from the 2S Pro’s Free Flex cuff, the Ultrasonic offers great mobility and comfort in the cuff area.

Hand Protection
Shocklite and Poron materials are found in the finger and hand protection of the blocker. The finger protection has been improved to have more adjustability, allowing the padding to be tightened closer to or loosened away from the finger, optimizing the fit and feel for each goalie. The fingers have again been split into singular padding for the index finger, and the remaining three fingers protected together.

Colors & Customization
The Bauer Supreme UltraSonic SR blocker is available in all White, White/Black, White/Navy, White/Blue, and White/Red. The UltraSonic Goalie Blocker is available in Regular hand (worn on your right hand) in all colourways, and Full Right (worn on your left hand) in All White.

The UltraSonic will be available on Bauer’s customizer to design your own unique colourways, as well as Bauer’s True Design custom graphic, where you can design a fully customized Bauer Goalie Blocker.

Goalie Blockers Sizing

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.

Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.

Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.

Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.

    Blocker Hands Simplified
  • Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
  • Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
